The power of social media and photo-shop can clearly fool even biggest sports giants in the country.
On Tuesday, the NBA had announced they were fining New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis $50,000 for publicly stating that he wanted to be traded to another franchise. That was the perfect storm for internet trolls to create fake news.
On Tuesday night, the Pelicans were taking on the Houston Rockets when Davis posted a picture of himself on Instagram in a colorful sweater. Someone created a fake comment of LeBron commenting on his account and seemingly given the middle finger to the league with his words.
The comment was clearly fake, but SportsCenter thought it was so real, so they actually ran with it on live TV.
