The NBA announced the return of its in-season tournament, now officially titled the Emirates NBA Cup. This exciting event, which debuted in the 2023-24 season, is set to shake things up again with a new logo, and thrilling competition format.
The teams will be divided into six groups, each consisting of five NBA teams that will participate in the new exciting series. The fixtures were announced on Thursday. The tournament will have a group stage from November 12 to December 3 ( every Tuesday and Friday). It will be followed by a quarterfinal round, where winners will be decided by a single game on Dec. 10 and 11.
The losers will be eliminated, and the winners will proceed to the semis on Dec. 14, which will have similar rules. However, the event will be shifted to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The final of the Emirates NBA Cup will be played on Dec. 17.
ESPN will reveal the six groups for next season on NBA on Friday (6/12) at 7 p.m. ET.
After the first season’s success, the league has put more effort into planning everything out in a grand fashion. The Lakers were crowned the winners after defeating the Pacers last season. Along with the new name, the NBA revealed the new logo for the tournament as well.

The widely known name was the in-season tournament that turned into the Emirates NBA Cup after the league’s partnership with the airlines. The name was decided in the second month of this year. In addition to the name, the partner’s name will be included in the logo.

The NBA commissioner had pledged to make tournaments like these interesting for the fans to watch. Hopefully, there won’t be any disappointment like many have complained about the All-Star game.
