Earlier this year, Dwyane Wade shocked the country when he revealed that Zion would be going by Zaya Wade as he made his transition into her true self, stating she knew since she was 3 years old that she was transgender.
“Zaya has known it for nine years,” the retired NBA star told Robin Roberts on “Good Morning America.”
When asked if he knew early on that Zaya, who was assigned male at birth, identified as a transgender girl, Wade responded: “I knew early on that I had to check myself. … I’ve been a person in the locker room that has been a part of the conversation that has said the wrong phrases and the wrong words myself.”
Every few weeks, social media tends to discuss Wade and his family with every knew photo that they post. Such was the case when a family photo popped up of Wade, Zaya, and Union was posted on Twitter for people to comment on.
The picture above was of Zaya celebrating her 13th birthday which was a Modern Medieval celebration. As expected, social media was taking multiple shots in the comments.
