Dwight Howard had three separate tenures with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, his second stint during the 2019-20 season was particularly significant. He played a vital role in the Lakers’ rotation during the 2020 NBA Playoffs, helping the team secure the championship title.
The Lakers attempted to bring Howard back after the season, but a communication breakdown prevented him from re-signing. In the latest episode of his podcast, “Above The Rim With DH 12,” Howard pointed the finger at his agent for the miscommunication.
“I think now looking back on it with the situation that I had with my agent and him actually getting’ convicted and being’ a part of the whole crime. He was a part of it, yeah, the same agent. So, I don’t even know what the truth was because what I was told was that you guys didn’t have an offer for me,” Howard said.
“I never even knew that—he told me, actually, he said that you guys had an offer, and then he said you guys took the offer back,” he added.
