Former Los Angeles Lakers star Dwight Howard last played for the team during the 2021-2022 season. Since then, the Lakers have faced numerous challenges. It led Howard to express his desire to make a comeback in the NBA while wearing a Lakers jersey once again.
The Lakers have been actively exploring the market for a veteran player who could form a formidable trio alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Recently, Davis openly stated that the team needs to add a center to bolster their roster.
Howard seemed to take Davis’ comments as an opportunity, using the moment to promote himself as the ideal solution for the Lakers. The former star took to X and signaled his eagerness to rejoin the team.

This isn’t the first time Howard has voiced his interest in reuniting with the Lakers. In November of last year, following the Lakers’ 102-117 loss to the Denver Nuggets, he shared a cryptic tweet hinting at his hopes. Additionally, on his podcast, Above The Rim With DH 12, Howard expressed disappointment over not being brought back to the team after their championship-winning season.

Dwight Howard recently made headlines after joining Gilbert Arenas on Gil’s Arena, where he shared his candid thoughts on the Los Angeles Lakers’ current struggles. Howard specifically pointed to Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka, blaming him for disrupting what he believed was a promising dynasty.

“I just believe that Rob really messed up the dynasty that we were starting. We would have had at least two championships and the opportunity to fight for a third,” Howard said.
