Dwight Howard’s next basketball home will be overseas. The eight-time All-Star big man announced last week that he has signed to play with the Taoyuan Leopards, a professional team in Taiwan.
“I am so so excited, and I can’t wait to touch down in Taiwan and start playing,” Howard said as part of a social media post by the team.
“I’m coming with open arms, with big hugs and big smiles.”
The smiles are definitely there especially when he found out what he was eating while strolling the city.
Howard, who turns 37 next month, was at a Taiwan market when he began enjoying an interesting dish that turned out to be Chicken ass.
“Chicken ass? Chicken ass? Oh s**t!” Howard exploded. “I just ate some chicken ass y’all. This is some good ass chicken,” he said, laughing it off.

Howard was a free agent after spending last season with the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 6.2 points and 5.9 rebounds in 16.2 minutes per game. Howard joining the Taoyuan Leopards for the T1 League has already generated a lot of interest in the league as well as his new team’s upcoming games, tickets for which have all sold out.
Howard’s first game will be a home game against New Taipei CTBC DEA on Nov. 19 at the National Taiwan Sport University Arena in Taoyuan.
He will be wearing number 12.
