After an impressive playoff run against the Suns and the Nuggets, the Minnesota Timberwolves found themselves in a spot of bother against the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. After going down 3-0, the Timberwolves pulled one back, but every game will now be an eliminator game for Anthony Edwards and Co.
The pressure on the Wolves was somewhat relieved by Karl-Anthony Towns getting back on scoring terms following a wretched shooting spree. To cope with the challenge ahead, Karl-Anthony Towns is getting some pro tips from a serial winner, and the advisor in question is Draymond Green.
Speaking on his “Draymond Green Show,” the Warriors veteran gave Towns some words of wisdom. Oddly, though, the advice line was far off the on-court dos and don’ts. “I’m wearing all black, probably some black forces, and that’s that,” said Draymond, talking about what Karl-Anthony Towns should do while trailing in the series.
He further added, “I’m going to war. Like, this ain’t about how I look in the tunnel. Kat should probably take a page out of that book…” Draymond continued, “Sometimes, there just ain’t time to think about that, and like, that’s something that I do when our backs are against the wall. It’s maybe failed me once or twice, but it usually comes through for me. Because winning is a mindset. Winning is a mentality.”
Not sure if fashion was on the mind of the 28-year-old forward, but surely he’ll appreciate some expert advice from Draymond. More so, because this time, Draymond had nothing negative to say about him, which has usually been the case in the past few days.
Draymond Green Called Out Karl-Anthony Towns for Lying
After the 116-107 loss to the Mavericks in game 3, Karl-Anthony Towns was asked about his shooting woes, which was the worst in NBA playoffs history after his 5-18 shooting.

In response, Towns blamed the unfortunate bounces off the rim and stated he practiced 1500 shots. On the “Inside The NBA” analyst desk, Draymond called “cap” on the Timberwolves star’s statement. “Hey Ernie, you know what ‘cap’ is?” asked Green to his co-host Ernie Johnson. After getting an affirmative response, Draymond said, “He lying. Nobody is shooting 1,500 shots a day right now.”
Kenny Smith seconded Draymond and called out Karl-Anthony Towns’ fabrication. Draymond also urged Chris Finch to bench KAT and Rudy Gobert to save the series.
Whether the Timberwolves save the series on Thursday will be seen, as the two teams will collide at Target Center for game 5 of the series.
