Draymond Green is an American professional basketball player who was born in Michigan. Green, an NBA player in his 12th season, has already won four championships with the Golden State Warriors. In addition, he competed for the United States at the Olympics in 2016 and 2020, where he took home a gold medal in both events.
Draymond Green Career
Draymond Green was the Golden State Warriors’ 35th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Considering his incredible resume, Green’s late selection was somewhat surprising, but he became a true NBA star while playing alongside Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry.
The Golden State Warriors recovered in 2015 with their first-ever 10-0 start following early elimination from the playoffs. With a 67-15 record, the Warriors were league leaders and went on to win the 2015 NBA Championship. Green was a key player in the playoffs, and his triple-double was an outstanding achievement in the final game.
Green and the Warriors put everything on the line in the following seasons after losing out on the 2016 NBA Championship. The Warriors were the clear favorite to win after Kevin Durant joined the roaster, and they backed up that tag with their second championship.
Injuries weakened the Warriors’ offensive after winning back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018, but Draymond Green and Stephen Curry got them to the 2019 Finals, where the Toronto Raptors defeated them in six games.
The star power forward missed a few games between 2019 and 2022 but was back to full strength for the team’s fourth NBA Championship-winning performance in the 2022 postseason.
