Following the Golden State Warriors’ exit from the post-season run, Draymond Green has taken a different role as an analyst at TNT. However, the 4-time champion recently forgot his position and started celebrating as his on-court rival Rudy Gobert got cooked on the hardwood.
During the second clash between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals, when Mavs guard Luka Doncic outplayed 4-time DPOY Rudy Gobert, the camera panned toward Green, who was spotted dancing in joy alongside Charles Barkley. In contrast, his other crewmate, Shaquille O’Neal, shook his head disappointedly.
Seems like Green had not forgotten his altercation with Gobert when he choked the Wolves center in a regular game in November last year. Draymond did receive a suspension, but his on-court skirmish didn’t stop. Despite having a big platform to share his insights about the different aspects of the league, Green mainly focused on criticizing Rudy Gobert, which turned a lot of eyes.
Former NBA Star Calls Out Draymond Green’s Professionalism
When an NBA analyst is hired, people expect him to share his views impartially. However, as NBA veteran Eddie Johnson pointed out, that is not the case with Draymond Green.
On his X (formerly known as Twitter) handle, Johnson wrote, “You cannot let your jealousy of a man who has 4 DPOY to your 1, cloud your professionalism on national TV as an employed analyst! A current player ripping another for personal reasons who is in a conference final and you are hired to talk about the game is wrong!”

After Game 2, when Luka Doncic was interviewed by Inside the NBA crew, the Timberwolves fans started chanting, “Draymond sucks.” To get back at them, Green suddenly said, “Rudy sucks, not me. What did I do?” and stunned everyone with his unnecessary remark about the Frenchman.
The Suns’ announcer fired back at Green as soon as the comment went viral on the internet. The 34-year-old must be extra careful going forward to show his professionalism.
