The Golden State Warriors are proving why they remain a dominant force in the NBA, even after losing Klay Thompson in an offseason move. With a strong 9-2 start, the Warriors have been unstoppable in the West. This dominance was on full display on November 7, when Steve Kerr’s squad defeated the reigning champions, the Boston Celtics, 118-112, with Stephen Curry’s 27 points dominating play.
Despite their success, even the best teams have moments of tension. During the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show With Baron Davis, both Green and Davis reflected on a heated moment from that very game. According to the duo, Kerr didn’t hesitate to direct some harsh words at Curry.
“There was a moment current Steph kind of got into it. When I saw it, I just went to Steph and reassure him like ‘Yeah, we good,” Davis said.
“People respond to things differently when you are one of the top dogs on the team; the job goes far beyond just going out there and playing a good basket. You have to know what makes your guys tick when you see Steph Curry get cussed out like that and he just like, ‘Man, No real reactions,’” Green said.
“Then Steve, come at you; you gotta shut the hell up. You have no choice but to shut the hell up. It sends a message to everyone, and more importantly, who else it sends a message to, it sends a message to the rest of the coaches,” he added.
