Golden State Warriors Draymond Green was ejected from Game 1 of the second-round playoffs against the Memphis Grizzlies for making contact with Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke’s face and then pulling down Clarke’s jersey.
Chris Russo and JJ Redick got into a huge shouting match about it. On ESPN’s “First Take” Chris “Mad Dog” Russo sounded off on Green’s behavior and criticized the Golden State Warriors star forward.
Russo said he was not interested in Green’s feelings. Russo noted that his opinion was not about race or politics. However, former NBA player and current ESPN sports analyst JJ Redick called out Russo for how he criticized Green, comparing Russo’s comments to the way Fox News talks about athletes. “I don’t appreciate the undertone,” Redick said.
Draymond himself saw and appreciated everything Redick said.
Green might be headed for a fine from the NBA after he flipped off Memphis Grizzlies fans.
“If you’re going to boo somebody who got elbowed in the eye and had blood running down their face, you should get flipped off,” Green said. “So, I’ll take the fine. I’ll go do an appearance and make up the money.”

He added, “it felt really good to flip them off.” As for the looming fine he’ll likely receive, Green knows he has plenty of money for that.
“I make $25 million a year,” he said. “I should be just fine.”
