The Golden State Warriors secured a hard-fought 114–106 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday, but it wasn’t just the win that had fans buzzing. Draymond Green stole the spotlight by mimicking Stephen Curry’s iconic “Night Night” celebration for the first time in his career.
The celebration came after Green powered past Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert to deliver a thunderous dunk. As the crowd roared, Green turned to hit Curry’s signature move. On the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show, Green shared the backstory behind the celebration and the chaotic sequence of events that led to it.
“Seth Cooper tells me, like, yo, you should get it in gold. But I ain’t about to say that to Steve. So I’m like, all right. Sure enough, he comes from behind the bench, and he tells Steve, ‘Get a ball to Draymond.’ I start going to 20-20 now,” Green said.
“Steph set a great screen, and I turned that mug over. And then I hit him with the night-night because I thought they caught the foul because Jadie McDaniels pushed the shit out of me. And it’s crazy,” he added.
Kevin Durant’s Reaction To Draymond Green’s Iconic Celebration
Draymond Green’s celebration didn’t go unnoticed by former Warrior and Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant. According to Green, Durant reached out to him shortly after the game to comment on the moment.
“KD text me last night saying, ‘Yo, you a fool for running down the court, fool Steve, for the night -night. Bro, I had blacked out. Man, all the way down court, bro. That was hilarious, man,” Green said.
