The NBA trades shocked the entire basketball community during the 2024-25 NBA season. The Golden State Warriors recently acquired Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler in a blockbuster five-team deal. However, prior to acquiring Butler, the Warriors had shown interest in trading for Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant.
Anthony Slater and Sam Amick of The Athletic reported that the Warriors showed interest in acquiring Durant prior to the February 6 trade deadline. However, they ultimately decided to abandon their pursuit after realizing that Durant was not enthusiastic about rejoining the team. As a result, the Warriors have chosen to move on.
In a recent interview with Mark Medina from Sportskeeda, Warriors forward Draymond Green shared his thoughts on Durant’s decision to reject a trade to the Warriors. “Didn’t affect my life one bit. Why would it? I don’t concern myself with guys who aren’t here,” Green stated.

Suns GM Brushes Off Inquiries Regarding Kevin Durant’s Refusal Of Warriors Trade
Durant’s decision to skip a reunion with the Warriors has sparked significant debate among basketball fans and analysts. In a recent interview, a reporter asked Suns general manager James Jones about the trade discussions between the Warriors and the Suns. However, Jones declined to provide a clear explanation for why Durant turned down the trade.
“It’s been my longstanding policy not to talk about rumors, speculation. What we do internally, we keep internally. It always gets noisy when you’re not winning. We’re not winning. So, we’ll just stay above the noise.” Jones said.
