The Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green is quite popular for his odd takes on the different aspects of the NBA. While his team is out of the post-season tournament, it has become easier for Green to share his views on his podcast “The Draymond Green Show.” With his latest remark on the NY Knicks’ failure, the 34-year-old is making headlines even without his on-court antics.
Green boldly stated that the NY Knicks’ favorable result this season is a one-time success which they cannot replicate in the following years. To justify his point, he named the Atlanta Hawks who made it to the Conference Finals three years ago but couldn’t reach there again. He believes there is less competition in the Eastern Conference and that’s why the teams can succeed by being better than average.
The Warriors forward further added how the Warriors had swept the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2019 Conference Finals, who couldn’t reach the same stage again. Then he boldly claimed, “That’s what the Knicks are setting y’all up for. Another 15 years of misery and we’ll all sit around and laugh at the delusion of Knicks fans.”
Green didn’t hesitate to state that the NY fans will be disappointed as the franchise will not be able to bring home the championship trophy even with the guidance of their ace Jalen Brunson.
Draymond Green Claims Jalen Brunson Can’t Win Knicks Championship
Jalen Brunson has shown phenomenal leadership in the Knicks’ colors the entire regular season as well as in the playoffs. While he single-handedly succeeded in securing wins for the franchise multiple times, Draymond Green feels that the guard does not have the potential to acquire the prestigious Larry O’Brien Trophy.
“I’m not a Knicks hater, I’m just honest. A lot of Knicks fans are delusional and they’re nuts. We know Knicks fans are nuts… I don’t hate the Knicks. I’m honest, and I am not delusional. A ball-dominant Jalen Brunson ain’t going to get you to the Promised Land,” said Green, despite acknowledging Brunson’s gusto on the hardwood.

The All-Star guard has made a massive contribution of 35.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game in the playoffs and has won two straight games in the semis against the Indiana Pacers. The way the New York team is performing, it will be interesting to see whether Brunson and the Knicks will be able to prove Green wrong this year.
