Is the LeBron James myth about to get busted? Well, that is what Draymond Green thinks. With a fall in James’ performance, the almost 40-year-old NBA icon is facing the heat from the media. And this is something that has not sat well with the Golden State Warriors star. In his opinion, James is likely feeling the burn from his progressing age.
Giving his take on the matter, Money Green opined that ‘Father Time’ spares no one. “Is Father Time catching up to him? Absolutely, because Father Time catches up to everyone… However, where I disagree here is people are saying, ‘We just saw it, he’s done now. We’ve been waiting on it. Now he’s done.’ No, no, no. I disagree with that. And the reason I disagree with that is because, quite frankly, what it looks like to me right now is he’s a little tired.”

Well, James’ performance has been a bit of an issue for the Los Angeles Lakers recently. The 4x MVP did start the season on a high. But his current averages are not looking particularly promising. James has declined to 16.8 ppg, along with a shooting percentage of 39.8%. Now, with such numbers coming up, there are lingering speculations about King James’ retirement. James himself is adding fuel to the fire.
LeBron James Is ‘Not One Of Those Guys’ When It Comes To Retiring
LeBron James is quite sorted with his retirement. According to the legend, he is happy to have achieved so much in the realm of the NBA. The 39-year-old mentioned that although he loved playing his game, he won’t wait till the last minute of him getting fully exhausted to call it a day.
LeBron James, after becoming the oldest player in NBA history to record back-to-back triple-doubles by hanging 19 points, 16 assists and 10 rebounds a month shy of his 40th birthday spoke about how much he has left: “I won’t do it until the wheels fall off, I’ll tell you that.” pic.twitter.com/ph6NUKIOoN

“But I won’t do it till the wheels fall off, I’ll tell you that. I am not going to be one of those guys. I’m not going to be the guy who is disrespecting the game because I just wanted to be out on the floor,” King James said, reflecting on the issue. Thus, with lingering doubts about his career doing the rounds, it remains to be seen whether a comeback is on the cards or not.
