The recent feud between Draymond Green and Stephen A. Smith has come to a swift conclusion. Draymond Green took the first step towards reconciliation by issuing a public apology during an appearance on “Inside the NBA.” Green’s words were aimed at clearing up any misunderstandings and expressing his regret for comments made previously.
“[Shaquille O’Neal], I was on your podcast… and you just mentioned Stephen A. And I said something that didn’t come out the way I said it, so I want to apologize to him. I said that publicly … I was wrong for that,” Green said.
The root of the feud was Green’s indefinite suspension for striking Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the face during a game in December. This incident drew sharp criticism from Stephen A. Smith, who did not hold back in blasting Green for his actions. The harsh critique did not sit well with the Warriors star.
In response to the criticism, the new crew member of “Inside the NBA” openly expressed his frustration and disappointment with Smith. In a recent podcast episode, Green claimed that he felt betrayed by Smith’s comments. The Golden State Warriors star felt particularly hurt because he had always defended Smith from private criticism.

“Apology accepted my brother [Draymond Green]. The love is always here for you, my Queens’ brother Kenny [Smith], and the whole TNT crew. Love y’all. I apologize as well, for anything I may have done. I’m not trying to hurt anybody. Now let’s enjoy this marvelous NBA basketball we’re about to see,” Smith wrote.
Before Green’s apology, the situation seemed irreparable when Smith publicly responded to Green’s comments with disappointment.
“Draymond Green just went on a national podcast with Shaquille O’Neal, my brother, and said that he lost respect for me. Well, I’ve now lost respect for him. I love this brother. I got mad love for Draymond Green. I have an abundance of receipts where I can show you and Molly, you can be a testament to this. How many times have I spoken up for Draymond Green? It’s been countless times,” Smith said.
