Since joining the Brooklyn Nets, Ben Simmons has been striving to have a solid season without the hindrance of injuries. Entering his third season with the team, Simmons has yet to fully showcase his potential and lead the Nets as expected.
However, Simmons’ trainer isn’t the only one hoping for a breakthrough in the upcoming season. His teammate, Dorian Finney-Smith shares a strong belief in Simmons’ abilities.
In a recent interview on Wednesday, Finney-Smith expressed his optimism about what a healthy Simmons could bring to the Nets. The 31-year-old forward also touched on the skepticism surrounding the team, with some projecting the Nets to win just 17 games this season. He sees that as an insult, and he and his teammates are using it as motivation.
“Me, Dennis Schroder, we were talking, and we just want everybody to know that we ain’t deferring to just tank or whatever. They’re saying we’re going to win 17 games. I feel like this team should take that as disrespect and use it as motivation,” Finney-Smith said.
“People don’t know how healthy Ben [Simmons] is going to be. But we’ve been seeing him for the last four weeks, and he looks great. So, if Bro gets back on the court, I feel like it’s gonna help our team a lot, and we’re going to shake the NBA,” he added.
