Paul George’s move remains in the headlines even days after he departs from the Los Angeles Clippers. This time, the media approached his former teammate Kawhi Leonard and asked him about his view.
Despite initially ignoring his topic, the small forward opened up about his stance. “I don’t have a problem with [Paul George] leaving,” Kawhi clarified.
The 34-year-old was not satisfied with the three-year, $149.5 million contract the Clippers offered. So, George broke his on-court pairing with Kawhi and entered free agency, where the Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers were eagerly waiting to acquire him.
Even after much effort by the Dubs, George settled with the Sixers. Along with Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the All-Star swingman will form the Sixers’ Big 3. However, LA’s Big 3, including Kawhi, George, and James Harden, crumbled.
The Clippers had high hopes when they signed Kawhi Leonard to team up with George, but they could not meet the expectations. In their five seasons together, the duo couldn’t prosper in the playoff run.
Now, with George gone, many suggest Kawhi follow him, as the Clippers have no championship hopes left. However, the two-time champion has bigger duties to perform in the national colors.

Kawhi Leonard Finds Spot on Team USA
Kawhi Leonard was on the questionable list for the 2024 Paris Olympics roster because of his knee injury. There were rumors that the USA team had started looking for his replacement. But with his recent recovery, Leonard clinched the 12th spot in the team.
Speaking about his injury, the 33-year-old said, “I was able to turn [it] around over the last two weeks. I’m out here now and I’m having a good time.” Like other team members, Leonard reached the venue and started training.
For now, Leonard’s only focus is winning the Olympics gold medal. The USA Team, which is filled with star players, could certainly help turn the dream into reality.
