The round one playoff series between the Dallas Mavericks and LA Clippers has been a nail-biting one, with each team outscoring the other in alternate games. After ending Game 5 with a 123-93 win, the Mavericks got the upper hand, but Clippers’ star Paul George doesn’t feel the pressure for their upcoming clash.
When PG13 was asked whether there was pressure for their next game, reflecting the sense of maturity in his mindset, he said that with growing age, the pressure feels less. The All-Star forward further added, “You train for these moments to where if you fail, you fail, but you just go out there and you give it all you have. Live with the results. But as far as pressure, not anymore. I don’t feel that pressure anymore.”
Stating that he has nothing to prove to others, the 34-year-old focused on the fact that he shows up for his team. George concluded by saying, “I’m going to play as hard as I can game six and give us the best chance I can give ‘em to go and get a win in Dallas.”
The Mavs showed absolute dominance in Game 5, securing the lead in all the quarters. Paul George contributed a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, but the LA side couldn’t stand a chance against the Dallas franchise. George has to boost his team so that they can get a win in Game 6 on Friday because one slip will end their championship dream and might as well end George’s chance to acquire the Larry O’Brien Trophy with the Clippers.
Paul George’s Future With Clippers Looks Uncertain
The end of the playoff series could be Paul George’s last appearance in the Clippers’ colors, as his future in the franchise remains uncertain. As per ESPN’s reports, the Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic are the two teams that are interested in obtaining George if he wants to explore his options.

George is reportedly looking for a maximum contract from the franchise, so his stay depends on the willingness of the LA side to offer him a more attractive deal. Only time will tell if the Sixers or the Magic will be able to add the 9-time All-Star to their squad, as a loss in game 6 could be a hammer blow to Paul George’s future with the Clippers.
