Donovan Mitchell wants justice and wants it now.
On Sunday, the Utah Jazz guard helped his team take a commanding 3-1 lead over the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2020 NBA playoffs with a 129-127 win. Mitchell not only dropped 50 points for the second time but also delivered the proverbial dagger on a three-pointer with 54.7 seconds remaining that gave the Jazz a four-point lead.
He had less than 24 hours to enjoy it after footage surfaced showing the police-involved shooting of Jacob Blake in Wisconsin. Blake, who is Black, was shot in the back in broad daylight in Kenosha, prompting widespread protests and unrest throughout the city.
Mitchell took to Twitter on Monday and angrily said “f–k the games and playoofs” and demanded justice.
