Donald Trump is taking a major swing at LeBron James.
The former President released a fiery statement on Thursday condemning the Lakers star for what he posted this week regarding the Ohio cop who shot and killed a 16-year-old who wielded a knife towards another girl during a fight.
“LeBron James should focus on basketball rather than presiding over the destruction of the NBA, which has just recorded the lowest television RATINGS, by far, in the long and distinguished history of the League. His RACIST rants are divisive, nasty, insulting, and demeaning.
He may be a great basketball player, but he is doing nothing to bring our Country together!”
Bodycam footage released by the Columbus Police Department late Tuesday showed 16-year-old Black teenager Ma’Khia Bryant being shot by an officer as she was attacking another teen with a knife.
James suggested that the Columbus shooting was unjustified on the heels of the conviction of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin on murder and manslaughter charges in the death of George Floyd.

“YOU’RE NEXT #ACCOUNTABILITY,” the NBA icon wrote with an hourglass emoji over an image of one of the officers at the scene of Bryant’s shooting.
James returned to Twitter to explain after he deleted the photo.
“ANGER does [sic] any of us any good and that includes myself!” James tweeted. “Gathering all the facts and educating does though! My anger still is here for what happened [to] that lil girl. My sympathy for her family and may justice prevail!”
He added, “I’m so damn tired of seeing Black people killed by police. I took the tweet down because its being used to create more hate -This isn’t about one officer. it’s about the entire system and they always use our words to create more racism. I am so desperate for more ACCOUNTABILITY.”
