Steve Kerr and his composition with US President Donald Trump is well known. The Golden State Warriors head coach recently made a hilarious revelation regarding the presidential inauguration. Kerr has long been known for his outspoken criticism of Donald Trump. Therefore, it came as little surprise that he opted not to tune into Trump’s inauguration ceremony.
On a day that also honored the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., Kerr decided to spend his time more productively. In a pre-game interview on Monday, the Warriors coach disclosed that he was watching game films. The films were of the Boston Celtics, who dominated Steve Kerr’s side.
“I didn’t watch the inauguration. I chose to watch Celtics tape,” Kerr said during the presser.

While it is obvious for a coach to keep his brigade ready for the next big challenge, Kerr knew what he exactly meant. The Bay Area team is going through a challenging season. With a record of 21-21, they’ve faced their fair share of injuries, losing key players like Draymond Green and Jonathan Kuminga. As the team sits in 11th place in the Western Conference, there are certainly more pressing matters occupying Kerr’s mind than the political landscape.

Former Chicago Bulls guard Kerr spoke at the United Center, which holds special memories for him as a player. He acknowledged that some people might criticize him for speaking at a political event but insisted it was too important to stay silent. Kerr emphasized his vision of leadership, which includes qualities like honesty, dignity, and caring for others.
He also mentioned meeting with Harris during a practice before the Olympics and noting that her presence reminded the team of their shared goal of playing for the country. With the recent presidential victory, it’s obvious that he should avoid facing President Trump.
