President Donald Trump is at war with the NFL and NBA over player protests during the National Anthem, and now he has even more fuel to blast one of the leagues.
Trump, who doesn’t have a good relationship with the NBA, claimed he doesn’t like how the league has become a “political organization” of late while burning them over their bad ratings:
“I don’t know much about the NBA protest,” Trump said. “I know their ratings have been very bad, because I think people are a little tired of the NBA frankly. But I don’t know too much about the protest, but I know their ratings have been very bad, and that’s unfortunate. They’ve become like a political organization, and that’s not a good thing. I don’t think that’s a good thing for sports or the country.”
It was this past Wednesday when the Milwaukee Bucks elected to stay in the locker room, rather than play their Game 5 against the Orlando Magic. Once they made their boycott clear, the other teams involved in the other two games followed suit.
The decision was made during the lead-up to the game, in reaction to the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a black man in Kenosha, Wis.
