Don Nelson is nothing like you remember when you last seen him patrolling the NBA sidelines.
The former head coach of the Golden State Warriors, who was the master behind the 8th seed defeating the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks 4–2 in the 2007 Western Conference First Round, returned to the city this week alongside former Warriors Jason Richardson and Stephen Jackson.
The 78-year-old now lives in Hawaii and is sporting a new look with long hair and a gold chain.
So, what exactly has he been doing these days:
“I’ve been smoking some pot. I never smoked when I played or coached so it’s new to me. I’m doing that and I’m having a pretty good time. It’s more legal now than it’s ever been, so I’m enjoying that.”
