Throughout the last season, DeMar DeRozan and the Chicago Bulls expressed mutual interest in continuing their partnership. However, unexpectedly, the Bulls decided to part ways with their star player, believing it was the right decision for their future.
This unexpected move opened the door for the Sacramento Kings to make one of the biggest acquisitions of the offseason, bringing DeRozan on board. The addition of DeRozan has excited Kings star Domantas Sabonis, who believes the move will significantly benefit the team.
“I think it’s going to be good for us. It’s going to make us think differently on the court and move differently. Really read each other,” Sabonis said.
“We are used to playing one style, but he does something at a Hall of Fame level that we’re going to have to play around, and it’s going to make it so much harder for teams to guard us… We can basically score from anywhere,” he added.

“He was a big soccer fan, so he used to always incorporate how soccer players move, how they use their footwork to get leverage, quickness,” DeRozan said.
“He always used to tell me to watch certain players like Hakeem [Olajuwon], obviously, the way he moved, but also like the smaller guards like a fuc***g Andre Miller,” he added.
DeRozan is coming off a season averaging 24 points, 4.3 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in those 79 games last season.
