Dion Waiters is going to be really light in his pockets after the Miami Heat announced they have suspended him 10 games without pay for “conduct detrimental to the team.”
The suspension began with Friday night’s loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, when Waiters was not with the team for the game at Staples Center. According to ESPN, what was listed as an “illness” was actually some extra strong edibles that had him suffering a panic attack after consuming potent THC-infused edible gummies.
Shams went on to state that the Heat believe Waiters was given those gummies by a teammate, but refused to tell who that teammate was.
The suspension means Waiters will miss out on his $1.2 million bonus for appearing in at least 70 games.
