Sports radio host Andy Slater put social media in a frenzy on Friday when he stated one of the players on the Miami Heat suffered a medical emergency on the team plane, but did not know which one at the time.
In a follow-up tweet hours later, it was announced by Slater that it was Dion Waiters, who reportedly passed out on the plane ride after he “overdosed” on gummies. He allegedly had a seizure when he woke up.
Waiters has now missed the first nine games this season after having previously been suspended for conduct detrimental to the team.
He is in the 3rd year of a four-year, $52 million contract.
