Devin Booker found himself in an odd situation in the team. It is understandable but not expected that a four-time NBA All-Star would be utilized as a ball handler. But this could be the harsh reality of playing in a star-packed team where all you see is great players, on your left or on your right.
Recently, Booker openly shared his feelings about playing alongside superstars Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal. With Durant out with an injury, Booker has stepped up as the main ball-handler for the Suns. After the team’s win against the Atlanta Hawks, Booker talked about how challenging it can be to share the ball with two other All-Stars.
“You take 2 shots in a row, and you’re like, ‘I’m out there with K and Brad,” Booker said. “I need to get them involved.’ Not having that on your conscious and just getting to play free can do a lot for anybody,” he added.

Although it is frustrating for him as his inner urge pushes him to be aggressive and take shots, he feels the need to involve Beal and Durant. Additionally, the star shooting guard also gave a nod to Beal’s transition to coming off the bench. He praised Beal for handling the change like a true professional. Booker noted that Beal has embraced mentoring Ryan Dunn, a younger player on the team.

He’s shooting well with 51.7% from the field and 40.8% from three-point range. It looks like Durant will make his 15th All-Star appearance. Booker, on the other hand, is in a tougher spot. He’s currently eighth among guards with 188,803 votes. He has shown he can play at a high level, averaging 24.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 4.9 rebounds this season.
However, he’s behind some big names like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Stephen Curry, who are leading in votes. For Booker to get in, he might need the support of coaches to secure a reserve spot. Durant is almost guaranteed a starting spot, but Booker has a challenging road ahead. Still, he has a shot at making it to his fourth All-Star Game. Suns fans are excited to see how things unfold!
