The Los Angeles Lakers wrapped up their preseason with just two wins, one of which came against Devin Booker’s Phoenix Suns. This game, however, had more to offer than just a scoreline.
The Lakers secured a 128-122 victory, but the spotlight soon shifted to Bronny James for his underwhelming performance. During the game, LeBron James’ son missed two consecutive free throws, and social media was quick to catch Devin Booker seemingly making a remark about it.
Booker was seen mouthing, “He’s just no good,” which many interpreted as a dig at Bronny. Despite the clip going viral, Booker was quick to address the situation. He recently took to X and shared the video of the incident to dismiss the claims. The Suns star also subtly mocked those who read too much into the moment.
“50k of y’all need help,” Booker posted.
During the game, Bronny came in from the bench and ended the game scoring four points and two rebounds. On the other hand, Booker added 22 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists in the Suns’ loss.

“His ranking has regressed ever so slightly because of team success, as he went from putting up 40-point games in the 2021 Finals to getting swept out in the first round last year. But at 27 years old, he is just scratching the surface of his prime,” ESPN’s report noted.
Booker had a strong season, averaging 27.1 points, 6.9 assists, and 4.5 rebounds. However, his hopes of winning an NBA title were dashed when the Suns were swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs.
