Derrick Rose has returned to Memphis and is now set to suit up for the Grizzlies well over a decade removed from his memorable 2007/08 season with the University of Memphis.
The guard is heading into his 17th NBA season after agreeing to join the Grizzlies in free agency and has chosen to commemorate the move with a decision to go back to wearing the number he wore in college.
Rose will sport the No. 23 on his Grizzlies jersey, a nice nostalgic touch. His wife, Alaina, shared photos of his Grizzlies welcome this week showing him and his kids in his new jersey which you could see right below:
Fans are absolutely loving it and, based on the reactions, it appears the Grizzlies jersey sales are set to skyrocket.

Rose hasn’t worn the No. 23 since 2008. He would go on to become the No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick that year, having led the Tigers to the national championship game.
It appears Rose still has plenty of fans despite the trajectory his career has been on since he was named the league MVP in 2011. Injuries have derailed what could have been an illustrious career, but it’s great to see him heading back to the place he made his name.
Good luck in Grind City, D. Rose!
