Following the heartbreaking loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA playoffs, Aaron Gordon resumed his down-to-earth lifestyle without any on-court commitments. But the respite was short-lived as AG’s elder brother, Drew Gordon, died in a car accident, as reported last Thursday. To honor his beloved late brother, Aaron Gordon got a tattoo as a permanent tribute.
Aaron Gordon recently posted a series of pictures showing the inking process on social media. The caption read, “Big bruh lives through me.”
The tattoo of an ape with DG initials was done on Gordon’s left chest. Drew Gordon tragically passed away in a car accident last week, and the family has been mourning. Prominent names from the NBA world also paid their respects to the former Sixers center to support the grieving family.
Aaron’s brother Drew and elder sister Elina were his biggest supporters growing up. Apart from the bright moments on the court in their childhood, some lived long in the memory due to their sheer impact.
Drew Gordon Once Apologized to Aaron for “Hurting His Brother”
During his rookie years with the Magic, Aaron Gordon suffered a horrific jaw fracture, which ruled him out of on-court action. The incident occurred in 2015 when the Nuggets forward was “horsing around” with his brother, Drew, during a family get-together.
Drew later apologized on social media for injuring his brother, writing, “I am deeply saddened and sorry for hurting my brother. I love him and my family more than anything.”

Following that year, Drew moved out offshore to play in France, Lithuania, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, and Japan before eventually retiring in 2023.
Before coming back to the USA to play with the Sixers in the 2014-15 season, Drew also played in Turkey and Serbia. His stint in the NBA with the 76ers, its G-League team, the Delaware 87ers, and the Long Island Nets, an affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, was rather underwhelming compared to his success in Europe.
Next season, fans will probably see a rejuvenated version of Aaron Gordon as he continues his NBA dreams to honor his brother’s memories. This might help the Nuggets star reach even further heights of glory.
