The Denver Nuggets could not defend their NBA title this year but are hardly in panic mode and are likely only a few pieces removed from a return to the finals.
They have been tipped to make significant trades in the offseason. Given that they are projected to exceed the second apron of the league’s luxury tax, they would do well to restructure their payroll.
The Nuggets have quite a bit to deal with ahead of next season. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope could opt out of his contract in a bid to get more than the $15.4 million he is due. Should he ask for more money, Denver probably wouldn’t be able to keep him.
Miichael Porter Jr., on the other hand, is entering the third year of a $180 million deal many feel is too much money and could possibly be traded.
As such, Heavy.com has proposed a deal that would see the Nuggets bring in a replacement at small forward, plus someone who could start at shooting guard.
How Michael Porter Jr. Leaves Denver
The outlet suggests that the 2023 NBA champs could send MPJ to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody.

Such a move would allow Denver to free themselves of Michael Porter’s contract and get a top two-way player in exchange, although Wiggins is coming off a rough year. Moody could also step in as a replacement for KCP should he opt to leave.
Wiggins boasts championship pedigree and was a key player when the Warriors last won in 2022. He would likely be a productive addition.
Moody averaged 8.1 points per game on 46.2 percent shooting last season, also shooting 36.0 percent from beyond the arc. While the numbers aren’t all that impressive, he could improve his scoring significantly if he becomes a starter next season.
