Fans are putting Miami Heat’s trip to the NBA Finals on DeMar DeRozan’s daughter.
The Heat have booked a date with the Denver Nuggets as they’re headed to their second finals in the last four years after beating the Boston Celtics on the latter’s home floor in a Game 7 on Monday night.
The run to the finals has been as unlikely as it gets. The Heat are the first eighth seed to make it as far on the back of a full regular season and are also the first Play-in team to make it to the finals, though the Play-in hasn’t been around that long.
You probably cannot recall a more shocking turn of events where the NBA playoffs are concerned. Miami had to get through the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round, with the Bucks putting together the best record in the regular season, before eliminating the New York Knicks, and then the second-seeded Celtics.
Consider this: they lost their first Play-in game to the Atlanta Hawks, have been without Tyler Herro since the first game against Milwaukee, and have been the road team all postseason.
The Heat played their second Play-in fixture against the Chicago Bulls and were trailing late in the contest before turning it around in a come-from-behind win, which is why Diar DeRozan is being blamed.

DeMar’s daughter helped the Bulls beat the Toronto Raptors in their first Play-in by screaming whenever the Canadian outfit shot free throws. The Bulls faced the Heat two nights later but Diar couldn’t make it because it was a school night.

The Heat will look to cap off their miracle postseason run with four wins against a Nuggets side no one is giving them a chance to beat.
