Sacramento Kings star De’Aaron Fox has been part of trade discussions since the beginning of the 2024-25 NBA season. During the offseason, the Kings offered him a three-year contract extension worth $165 million, which he declined. Recently, ESPN’s Tim MacMahon reported that multiple NBA teams are interested in a potential blockbuster trade for Fox.
The team’s struggles continue, as they are now on a six-game losing streak following a recent defeat against the Los Angeles Lakers. However, after the game, Fox spoke to the media and shared insights on improving the team’s performance.
“We have to find a way to get better. Whether that’s players that aren’t in this locker room or the players in this locker room. We have to buckle down and get better. The conference is continuing to grow, so we have to grow with it,” Fox said via The Athletic’s Law Murray.

De’Aaron Fox Discusses The Kings Parting Ways With Mike Brown
After the Kings’ difficult loss to the Detroit Pistons, De’Aaron Fox and head coach Mike Brown engaged in a brief conversation. This exchange occurred after a disappointing five-game losing streak, which ultimately resulted in the decision to part ways with Brown. In a later interview, a reporter asked Fox if the players felt any pressure or guilt following the coach’s departure.
“I wouldn’t use the word ‘guilt.’ That’s the nature of the job that we have. Obviously him signing his extension this summer, we thought we would be together a whole lot longer. But that’s the decision that they made. But at the end of the day too, he’s still getting paid. A great part of being an NBA player, being an NBA coach is those things can happen, but contracts are guaranteed,” Fox said (Via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin).
