Shaquille O’Neal believes that the 2019-20 NBA season should be canceled for safety reasons and for the fact that any team who wins the title this year will have an asterisk to their victory.
That proclamation led to Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey making a bold claim that makes a ton of sense.
Morey retweeted the discussion between Rachel Nichols, Tracy McGrady, and Richard Jefferson on O’Neal’s opinion and stated the Rockets were destined to win this year because all of Houston’s titles seem to have an asterisk on it.
The Rockets franchise has a total of two titles, which they won back-to-back in 1994 and 1995 when Michael Jordan missed one full season and came back to play 17 regular season and 10 playoff games in the following year. Many folks believe the Bulls would’ve won eight-straight if he had not retired.
The Houston Astros recently received a major asterisk after their cheating scheme was exposed during their 2017 World Series title winning season.
Morey has a freaking point that the Rockets might be poised to win this year if the season continues.
