The Cleveland Cavaliers have been dominant this season, holding a historic 32-4 record that places them firmly at the top of the Eastern Conference. Even with tough competition from Western Conference rivals, no team has managed to surpass the Cavaliers’ dominant start. The Cavs star Darius Garland has been one of the top contributors to the success.
After a tumultuous 2023-24 season that saw Garland dealing with personal losses and injuries that disrupted his rhythm, the guard has silenced any doubters with his outstanding performance this year. In fact, Garland is feeling confident about earning his first All-Star selection. He also believes the Cavaliers’ success should result in multiple players being recognized.
“I’m trying to be humble as possible. But… yeah, I should be an All-Star. Yes. There should be four of us on this team that are All-Stars,” Garland said.

Garland’s journey to this point has not been easy. Last season, he was sidelined for 19 games due to a broken jaw, which ultimately limited him to just 57 regular-season appearances.
However, this season, Garland has stayed healthy and has been a steady presence for the Cavaliers. So far, he has appeared in 35 games, averaging 20.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 6.7 assists per game.
Darius Garland Calls Out Lack Of All-Star Recognition For Cavaliers Despite Historic Start
Despite their dominance, the Cavaliers team has felt disrespected in the NBA’s first 2024-25 All-Star fan voting returns. Reportedly, only two players were named on the list. Darius Garland recently spoke out about his team’s lack of recognition despite their position as the best in the league.

“I don’t know why. And I wish I had the answer to that because I feel that we deserve to have recognition of being the best team in the league. Especially with the group we have and the brand of basketball that we play. It’s really exciting, and I think it’s fun,” Garland said.
The Cavaliers’ recent success speaks for itself. Over their last 15 games, the Cavs have only tasted defeat once. It remains to be seen if the Cavaliers will receive the respect they deserve from fans and earn more All-Star selections.
