During Game 1 of the first round series against the Dallas Mavs — Paul George poured in 27 points during a very efficient night, but no one had a clue he wouldn’t be seen again for over a week.
George had been heavily thrown in the mud for his performance on the floor during Game 2, 3, and 4. After a great night in Game 5, George spoke about his mental health and dealing with depression while in the NBA bubble.
“It’s tough, it’s just really hard being in here,” George said. “It’s not easy. All-day it’s just basketball, it’s hard to get away from it. Shout out to the NBA for creating this environment, but at the same time, it’s rough.”
Not helping matters was social media constantly bashing him for playing terribly.
Danny Green fully understands that. He spoke about that on Friday when he said players have little to nothing else to do but be on their phone and check social media and watch how people are bullying them.
