The Indiana Pacers were swept in the Eastern Conference Finals by the Boston Celtics, who won the series 4-0. After this disappointing defeat, New York Knicks shooting guard Josh Hart added insult to injury by joking about Pacers’ star Tyrese Haliburton.
On his podcast, The Roommates Show, Hart shared a recent conversation he had with Haliburton. Hart threw a subtle dig at Haliburton for failing to secure a single win against the Celtics.
“I’m like, damn y’all couldn’t get one win? Y’all beat us Game 7, whatever, y’all mad hype. Y’all couldn’t get one win? After three leads in the fourth? Obviously if we moved on, [Jalen Brunson] wouldn’t have been playing, I would have tried to play, I don’t know how I would have been. Damn, we could’ve did that. At least get one,” Hart said.
The Knicks had their own struggles in the series against the Pacers. They dealt with several injuries, missing key players like Mitchell Robinson, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Julius Randle. These absences contributed to their eventual exit from the NBA championship race before Haliburton shared their recipe against the Knicks.
In the Eastern Conference Finals, the injury woes continued, but this time for Tyrese Haliburton. He missed the final two games of the series due to a hamstring injury. His absence was a significant blow to the Pacers, who struggled without their star player.

This reaction surprised many fans because Hart’s team had failed to defeat the Pacers, which the Celtics later swept. This inconsistency made Hart’s remarks seem out of place to some.
A number of fans criticized Hart, suggesting that he was only making provocative comments to boost viewership for his podcast. They felt he was trying too hard to gain attention, and some already found him annoying off the court.
The Pacers had shown strong performance throughout their series, but injuries and fourth-quarter struggles ultimately cost them. Fans were quick to remind Hart of these factors in the comments section, pointing out the irrelevance of his taunts.
Both Hart and Haliburton’s eyes will now be on the June 6 NBA final series between the Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks.
