Damian Lillard Sparks Outrage Over Chauncey Billups Hiring, Sexual Assault Allegations, Fires Back On Twitter (TWEETS)

Damian Lillard has had enough of his name being slandered on social media.

The Portland Trail Blazers star had caught a ton of flak over endorsing initial head coaching candidate Jason Kidd and eventual selection Chauncey Billups, both of whom have had assault cases made against them in the past.

Chauncey Billups had to settle a rape allegation thrown at him and former teammate Ron Mercer back in his rookie season with the Boston Celtics. News came out on Friday that the Portland Trail Blazers are on the verge of hiring Chauncey Billups as the team’s new head coach and social media went nuts.

This is on Dame IMO. They were always going to hire exactly who he wanted and he wanted Billups or Kidd. They put out names like Becky Hammon and Mike D’Antoni to cool off some of the backlash and hired the guy who they were always going to hire.

As things stand, Chauncey Billups has already agreed to be the Portland Trail Blazers’ next head coach.

Billups is a five-time NBA All-Star and the MVP of the 2004 NBA Finals as a member of the Detroit Pistons.
