Whatever Ja Morant is trying to prove to the world is not working as many continue to call him out on his antics of trying to be hood and gangster.
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has no timetable to return to the team following the latest drama plaguing the superstar point guard as he continues to sit out following the controversy over the weekend in which he appeared to brandish a gun while at a nightclub in a livestream on Instagram.
Not only are fans mocking him, but it seems to be happening by his peers.
Portland Trailblazers star Damian Lillard seemed to send a clear message when he liked a tweet claiming that Morant is simply trying to “act hood.”
“Notice how Dame is actually from the hood, and he don’t go around acting like Ja Morant, who is from the suburbs trying to act hood,” the tweet reads.
As it turns out, it appears Buttcrack Sports faked the picture that Lillard liked a tweet about Morant.

Lillard fired back at the lies on Twitter.
“Let em lie. Fuck I look like liking that. I don’t care who is and is not from the ‘trenches,’” he wrote.
Morant was not with the team in Los Angeles for the Grizzlies’ game Sunday against the Clippers and he is not expecting to be with them when they play the Lakers on Tuesday.
Morant later issued an apology after he received a two-game suspension.
“I take full responsibility for my actions last night,” Morant said. “I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire Grizzlies organization for letting you down. I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”
The gun incident in the club is the latest in a string of controversies looming over the superstar point guard. He is also involved in a civil lawsuit brought after an incident this past summer in which a 17-year-old alleged that they assaulted him at Morant’s home.
