After dominating the regular season, Luka Doncic continued to spread his magic in the post-season tournament. Thanks to his heroics, the Dallas Mavericks were able to keep the Minnesota Timberwolves at bay in the Conference Finals series. However, the Mavs guard is struggling with his knee from the semifinal series, so NBA great Charles Barkley feels that he should be rested in Game 4.
On TNT’s “Inside The NBA”, the analyst stated, “Get the game over and I wouldn’t even play Luka in Game 4. If they get up 3-0… he gets almost two weeks off. He’s playing on one leg… He needs some rest.” However, being the backbone of the Mavs franchise, the 25-year-old has previously stated that he wants to make the utmost effort to pull the team to the ultimate goal.
The Mavs have set their eyes on the championship trophy and are working hard in each game to achieve their goal. When the Timberwolves qualified for the Conference Finals, many believed that the team would weigh heavier on Luka and Co, but to their surprise, the unexpected happened.
With their astonishing partnership, the talented Mavs duo, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, proved their doubters wrong and snatched a 3-0 lead from the mighty Wolves. Though Chuck seems worried about the Slovenian guard’s health, his phenomenal performance in Game 3 says otherwise.
Luka Doncic Leads the Way for Mavericks in Game 3
From the opening quarter, the Mavericks appeared to be the stronger side, providing at both ends and finishing with a 116-107 victory. A massive amount of credit goes to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving for ripping the Timberwolves’ defense.
Luka scored 33 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists on Sunday night, hitting 10-of-20 shots from the floor and 5-of-11 shots from 3-point range. Irving, the former Cavs guard, put up the same points for the Mavs on shooting 12-of-20 from the floor and 3-of-6 from downtown.

Their back-to-back attacks made it hard for the 4-time DPOY Rudy Gobert and his fellow defenders to hold them back. The Mavs need one more win to secure this position in the championship finals, which they would want to snatch in Game 4 at the American Airlines Center on Tuesday, with Luka leading the team to success.
