The Boston Celtics have qualified to contend in the 2024 NBA Finals from the Eastern side of the league after dominating the Indiana Pacers throughout their Conference Finals. Though the finalists from the other side are still undecided, a majority of the NBA fans have considered the Dallas Mavericks to advance in the finals as they are leading the series against the Minnesota Timberwolves by 3-0.
With the Mavs’ chances being in the finals on the higher end, the Celtics fans have already started preparing for war against their old rival Kyrie Irving.
As soon as the Cs secured their fourth win against the Pacers on Monday, the hardcore fans lined up on the streets with “F**k Kyrie” chants. They seemed eager to welcome their former player to the Finals.
The Mavs guard’s clash with the Boston fans is nothing new as it dates back to the time when he left the team in 2019 and entered free agency before joining the Brooklyn Nets.
Irving had a terrible experience the two times he faced off the Celtics in the 2021 and 2022 playoffs. The crowd had ridiculed him so much at the TD Garden that he showed his middle finger in one game and stomped on their logo in another.

Despite the expected outcomes in the possible clash, a former Celtics star warned the fans, who were aiming to degrade Irving again.
Kendrick Perkins Warns Celtics About Kyrie Irving
The former NBA player-turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins, who has been all praise of Kyrie Irving for his impact on the Mavericks team, extended his support for the 8-time All-Star prior to a probable match-up against the Boston Celtics.
Recently on “The Stephen A. Smith Show” Perkins conveyed a message to the Boston fans, “OK, boo him, do whatever you want but please, I’m warning you guys, do not take it over. Leave him alone. … We know that they’re going to boo him. But the excessive thing, like the things where fans gotta get escorted out the arena. Leave him alone. I’m telling y’all, it’s for y’all best interest. Leave that man alone. That man is playing his (expletive) off. He’s on a mission.”
Kyrie Irving has been phenomenal in leading the Mavs to the Western Conference Finals alongside Luka Doncic with his remarkable on and off-court contribution. Besides averaging 22.4 points, 4 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game in the playoffs, the 32-year-old is providing huge support to the team with his championship experience.
If Dallas succeeds in snatching one more win against the Wolves, then they will proceed to the NBA Finals facing the rowdy Celtics fans.
