LeBron James basically told every team in the league that he would sign with them if his son, Bronny, gets drafted. It got a lot of hopeful fans excited about possibly getting the father-and-son duo on their team one day.
“Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”
In a recent talk on the “Pardon My Take” podcast, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban made no guarantees about picking up Bronny. In fact, he basically confirmed that he wouldn’t pick him up on name alone.
“I don’t know,” Cuban said. “It depends on the circumstances and how good Bronny is. Would I just burn (a second-round pick) just to burn it? Probably not. And again, we’ll have this guy named Luka (Doncic) who is really, really good. And so it would really depend on the team that we have around him.”
James is expected to be part of the 2024 NBA Draft, though that could change if he decides to go the college route.
The young James is listed as a four-star recruit and the fourth-best player in California. 247Sports has him currently as the sixth-best combo guard recruit and the No. 34 overall recruit in 2023.
With Luka Doncic, the Mavericks are set up to compete for years to come, Bringing in Bronny and getting LeBron could make the team a championship contender.

The four-time MVP is averaging 28.9 points, eight rebounds and 6.4 assists per game so far. His performance levels remain high, but his health has been an issue. He has missed 70+ games since he arrived in LA in 2018.
