A lot of people may feel sorry for Brittney Griner and want to see her come home, but Curt Schilling is not one of those people.
The former Major League Baseball pitcher took to Twitter over the weekend and had a fiery response to LeBron James’ plea to bring Griner home.
“I know this may seem like a stretch,” the 55-year-old said. “But something like 300 million people understand ‘OBEY THE FUCKING LAW’, why is that such a challenge?”
“And why on earth should she NOT pay the penalty for breaking another country’s laws?”
Griner, who pleaded guilty to drug charges, has been held in Russia since February after Russian authorities say they found vape cartridges containing hashish oil in her luggage.
The guilty plea does not bring an end to the case, but some have suggested it could speed up the process along with Griner’s exit from prison. She could make herself eligible for a prisoner swap between Moscow and Washington, D.C.

Schilling says her plea and subsequent statements are justification for her to remain behind bars as long as Russia sees fit.
“She, as far as I know from every quote of hers,” Schilling said, “has NEVER denied committing the crime, not once.”
