The Larry O’Brien Trophy is the ultimate dream of every NBA player to win. Each year, the winner of the NBA Finals is awarded the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy. Before being renamed in 1984, the trophy was called the Walter A. Brown Trophy, after its predecessor. However, recently, Ken Jeong, an American stand-up comedian and actor, made a funny video with the trophy.
Jeong posted a video on his social media account (formerly known as Twitter) in which he was seen talking about the trophy. He performed a funny act and said that the NBA sent him the trophy to keep for the rest of his life. He also mentioned that he has no awards other than this Trophy.
“This is just so surreal just to be here with The Larry O’Brien Trophy, and I am so grateful to the NBA. They are gonna let me keep it for the rest of my life. I am gonna put it in my living room, right next to… actually, I have no other awards. This is the only thing.” Jeong said.
Ken Jeong poked fun at himself while embracing the Larry O’Brien Trophy
In another humorous video by Jeong, he was captured crying and embracing the trophy while saying, “We did it.”
“We did it, we did it, of wow, I didn’t get to play a minute of any of the games, but we did it, and if it wasn’t for me, none of this would be possible, and that’s a fact talk to my lawyers,” Jeong said.
Jeong gained popularity through his roles as Ben Chang in the NBC comedy Community (2009-2015) and Leslie Chow in The Hangover film series (2009-2013). He also appeared in Knocked Up (2007), Role Models (2008), Crazy Rich Asians (2018), and Scoob! (2020), and Tom & Jerry (2021). In addition to his acting career, he created, wrote, and produced the ABC sitcom Dr. Ken (2015-2017), where he played the title character.
