This is rather unfortunate for DeMarcus Cousins.
Coming off a torn left Achilles tendon that ended his season with the New Orleans Pelicans, the Golden State Warriors big man signed a 1-year deal with the Golden State Warriors in an effort to show teams what he could do while possibly getting a ring in the process. While getting a ring is still in the works, Cousins might be lost for the season yet again.
Three minutes into his second career postseason game, Cousins tumbled to the ground as he reached for a loose ball, grabbing for his leg and writhing in pain. After the injury, Cousins tried to walk under his own power, avoiding help from his teammates and limping to the locker room.
That gave cameras a clear and close-up shot of his leg and it did not look good at all.
“There’s a pretty significant quad injury,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the loss. “We’ll get an MRI tomorrow. But he’s going to be out for, I’ll just say a while.”
