Anthony Davis, the power forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, quickly became a standout player after joining the team in July 2019. Alongside star player LeBron James, the 31-year-old had several dominant seasons with the Lakers, including winning the NBA championship in the 2019-20 season. However, Davis has recently come under heavy criticism due to his disrespectful behavior towards some kids.
In a recent post on X (formerly known as Twitter), a Los Angeles Clippers fan shared a video of Davis for ignoring a few kids at the Malibu Carnival. In the video, Davis, who recently dunked over Joel Embiid in a practice session of Team USA, is seen avoiding two kids multiple times. The children were waiting for a long time just to get the autograph of their favorite superstar on a basketball and t-shirt. However, the Lakers forward doesn’t seem to be interested in greeting his fans.
“Anthony Davis avoids two young fans at a Malibu Carnival. They are LITERALLY begging AD for one autograph and he NEVER even makes eye contact with them.. This is whats WRONG with the NBA today, players have $100 million mansions and are so full of themselves that they think they are above little kids who idolize them.” the Clippers’ fan wrote.
“AD could have had the decency to BARE MINIMUM look at the kid and say, “sorry kid not today, but thank you for the support.” Instead he pretended the kid didn’t even exist. NBA blasts us with “NBA cares” campaigns to protect their image. But a player like AD, who is barely an all star, acts like this. Shame. Do better.” The clippers’ fan added.
While many fans started criticizing Davis for his actions, a few fans brought a logical explanation for the Lakers Center’s support.

One fan said, “Bro you be talking about anything lmaooo these people are human man they have a right to say no.”
Meanwhile, another fan mentioned, “He doesn’t owe those kids SH*T. Great job AD. Teach them they aren’t ENTITLED to anything. Especially your time. Hopefully, they remember that the next time they bother an athlete during his free time.”
Another fan wrote, “There is nothing wrong in having some private time. You don’t have to give every kid an autograph. Why that sad music?”
Another fan reacted, “Shit what if they just want peace and to chill just like how is regular humans do I don’t blame him he just want to be left alone.”
In the 2023-24 NBA season, Davis delivered several outstanding performances, showcasing remarkable talent on the court along with James. However, the Lakers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the round one playoff series.
Despite this disappointment, Davis continued to impress by demonstrating stellar skills in international competition as part of Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics. His outstanding contribution played a vital role in helping the American men’s basketball team secure their 5th straight gold medal.
The Lakers’ center averaged 24.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 76 games in the 2023-24 season. With the next NBA season approaching, all eyes will be on Davis to see his performance.
