The Cleveland Cavaliers pulled off a big trade last year, bringing Donovan Mitchell in. And they’re expected to have heavy involvement in free agency ahead of next season.
NBA insider Brian Windhorst may have a major scoop pertaining to the Cavs this offseason as he teased some “outlandish rumors” to ESPN Cleveland on Tuesday. While he didn’t divulge anything of note, he asked the hosts to pay attention to social media, suggesting that there could be some substance to some of the speculation going around online.
“I don’t have a terrific feel for what the Cavs are doing…there is one thing out there that I heard in the last week, just look on social media over the last week and see what you see and go from there.”
While he might know something, Windhorst was pointing out that Cleveland is keeping its business in-house for the time being.
There’s definitely going to be some movement in free agency this offseason given the glaring issues. Though the Cavs put an impressive roster together in 2022, they were booted from the playoffs in the first round and are well aware of the fact that they need to make acquisitions to help Mitchell.
It’s going to be an interesting summer for the Eastern Conference hopefuls. But we’ll have to wait and see whether we get another Windy moment following this bit from the ESPN reporter.
