After a few failed relationships that had no chance of going anywhere nad giving her what she wanted, Ciara said she asked God to give her a devout Christian husband who would love her son as his own.
“I remember telling my friend the kind of guy I wanted: a God-fearing man with a very fun spirit who loves kids and would really, truly care for me,” the 30-year-old singer told Essence Magazine. “I was very specific because I do believe you can have it all.”
Next thing you know, she would be soon dating Russell Wilson. The Seattle Seahawks quarterback was absolutely nothing like the guys she had dated before, and one of the biggest changes she had in this relationship as opposed to the others, was she did not give up the goods until a ring was put on her finger.
It wasn’t easy. During her cover interview for April’s issue of InStyle, she explained how she and her Super Bowl-winning husband abstained from having sex until their vows were said.
“That took a lot of prayer,” Ciara joked. “It was hard. I can’t lie.”
This wasn’t the 1st time Ciara spoke about the couple’s ‘no sex’ policy that has gotten them to this point.
“I really believe that when you focus on a friendship, you have the opportunity to build a strong foundation for a relationship,” the “Level Up” singer told Cosmo South Africa in Jan. 2017. “Once you know you’re really great friends and you’re what we call ‘equally yoked,’ where you share the same values or the same outlook on life, it kind of sets the tone… You shouldn’t feel like you have to give your body away to get someone to like you.”

“I have to give credit to my husband for sharing those views,” she continued. “It’s awesome how it all worked out.”
Ciara and Russell Wilson are truly a goal that anyone should want in life.
