Chris Paul woke up on Thursday morning as part of a team that had a real shot to compete for an NBA Championship. By Thursday afternoon, he was shipped off to a franchise that is in full rebuild mode.
The veteran point guard was traded to the OKC Thunder in exchange for Russell Westbrook.
To make matters worse, CP3 seriously thought there was a chance that he, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden would all be on the same team after social media users saw him “like’ a post that pictured them all together with the caption, “Would you wanna see this?”
Ouch, that hurts.
Despite his pain right now, Paul isn’t expected to suit up for the Thunder as he and his agent are set to speak with Thunder GM Sam Presti about getting him out of there.
The 34-year-old averaged 15.6 points, 8.2 assists and 4.6 rebounds per game last season and currently has three years, $124 million left on his contract.
